Senior Security Expert (AI)

Location: Fully remote worldwide; candidates based in Mauritius are expected to collaborate in person at the Port Louis office typically once per week. Candidates based in Italy or nearby may use the Milan and Bologna offices. The role requires working within a ±1 CET time frame.

What you will do

• Own the security strategy, roadmap, architecture, and leadership reporting for the platform, cloud infrastructure, internal systems, and code.
• Own AI security, including compliant internal AI use under GDPR and the EU AI Act, security of product AI features, and defenses against AI-powered attacks.
• Embed secure development practices through code review standards, dependency management, and automated security testing.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, incident response, security policies, and ownership of critical infrastructure vendors.
• Manage cybersecurity, data protection, technology, and AI risks in the enterprise risk management portfolio, including mitigation tracking and reporting.
• Maintain tested disaster recovery and business continuity plans, protect company data and access, support customer audits and reviews, and coach engineers.

Requirements

• Significant experience in security engineering or security architecture, ideally in a SaaS environment.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure security and application security.
• Hands-on understanding of AI and LLM risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, and model supply chain risks.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR from a security perspective.
• Experience managing risks in an enterprise risk register or framework such as ISO 31000, including likelihood and impact scoring and mitigation tracking to closure.
• Experience building and testing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain risk in business terms.
• Fluent English.
