Post Doctoral Research Associate (Maternal Cardiovascular Health)

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. The role is based at Oxford Road and is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Salary: £38,448–£46,970 per annum, depending on relevant experience.

What you will do

• Conduct a programme of preclinical research investigating mechanisms linking hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, including preeclampsia, to long-term cerebrovascular risk.
• Test novel treatment strategies intended to improve long-term brain health.
• Analyse and interpret research data, draw conclusions, and report outcomes to the wider study team.
• Contribute to research student supervision.
• Work in parallel with ongoing human studies in the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre as part of a translational research programme.

Requirements

• Home Office personal licence and experience planning and delivering in vivo studies.
• Relevant laboratory experience in pregnancy research, cardiovascular research, and/or neuroscience research.
• Ability to work to a high standard and produce reproducible results.
• Ability to plan, organise, and undertake a complex workload with multiple competing priorities and minimal supervision.

• Strong journal publication record.
• Experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
