Embedded Software Engineer (GPS)

Salary: $119,500–$164,400 per year

What you will do

• Design modular software from requirements interpretation through final implementation.
• Develop high-performance GPS signal recovery and timing software for mission-critical aviation and defense aerospace systems.
• Architect time-critical solutions in collaboration with hardware and firmware teams.
• Document, verify, and manage the certification lifecycle for DO-178-certified work products.

Requirements

• Be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret-level clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Hold a BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
• Have proven expertise designing software for minimal architectures and real-time or time-critical applications, including embedded systems or high-speed servers.
• Have a strong understanding of digital hardware and microprocessor architecture.
• Be proficient in C and Python 3.x and understand modular, structured software design concepts.
• Have experience with multi-threaded operating systems and advanced multi-threaded software design.
• Be familiar with Configuration Management tools and processes and Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative Spiral development lifecycles.
• Have strong verbal, written, and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with GPS or communication systems.
• Object-oriented programming experience in C++.
