Intern Visual Designer

Location: Ottawa, Canada; must work from the Ottawa office at least three days per week.

Compensation: CAD 19.46–28.55 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop and execute creative design solutions for marketing campaigns, corporate events, websites, presentations, interactive PDFs, and other projects.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping tools to create and edit graphics and visual assets.
• Collaborate with designers, a videographer, the Senior Creative Manager, marketing leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Apply feedback, contribute ideas, and help maintain brand consistency across design projects.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized files and graphics according to Creative team standards.
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, project meetings, and weekly check-ins while developing design and business skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a BA or BFA in a related field such as Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Interactive Design, or Digital Design.
• Passion for graphic design and visual communication, with a functional understanding of design theory and principles.
• Strong knowledge of design tools and prototyping software, including Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, with proficiency in other Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of Web UI standards, responsive design frameworks, environmental graphics, and/or production processes.
• General understanding of digital trends, especially in B2B environments.
• Must be currently enrolled in full-time education or be a recent/upcoming graduate within 12 months of the placement end date.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
