hirify.global builds rockets, including the Terran R launch vehicle, and develops the factory and manufacturing systems required for scaled launch operations.
What you will do
Own the development, validation, and refinement of test assets and processes for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Execute mechanisms and integrated assembly testing through design integration, test equipment and tooling design or sourcing, sequencing, mBOM development, work orders, training, and specification authoring.
Provide technical leadership for workcenter development, assembly and test operations, safety compliance, tooling, and capital equipment.
Support shop-floor and production personnel by resolving test issues and providing feedback for design for manufacturability, testability, and reparability.
Analyze test data, identify recurring discrepancies, lead root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with design, production, supply chain, and quality teams to execute manufacturing test processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline, plus 2+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
Experience authoring test procedures for building and validating mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
Experience partnering with design engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to execute test procedures and investigate test failures and anomalies.
Experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scope test systems and process improvements with minimal oversight.
Expert knowledge of safety standards, common test hazards, and appropriate mitigations.
Hands-on experience in at least two of the following: electromechanical or pneumatic assembly; electrical or pneumatic functional checkouts; integrated testing; leak checking; sensor checkouts; high-voltage systems of 320V or more; high-pressure pneumatic systems; instrumentation and sensor setup.
Nice to have
Experience defining and implementing testing processes, driving execution across diverse teams, and managing testing projects in fast-paced, production-driven environments.
Working knowledge of rocket subsystems such as structures, mechanisms, high-pressure gas systems, and avionics, including planning and conducting hazardous operations for aerospace hardware systems.
Knowledge of industry test standards such as SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D, and MIL-STD-810G.
Experience with test automation, data acquisition and control systems, electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, and pressure test equipment such as pressure regulators and flow meters.
