Application Scientist (Proteomics)

Location: Billerica, Massachusetts, United States; based in the Billerica laboratory. Extensive travel to customer and internal R&D sites is required, including hirify.global laboratories in the US, Greece, Switzerland, and Germany.

Base salary: USD $88,000–$141,000 per year. Full-time employees may also be eligible for performance-related incentives.

What you will do

• Analyze projects involving proteomics, glycoproteomics, structural proteomics, small molecules, and biologics characterization.
• Create and validate methods on the timsOmni, transfer methods to global hirify.global demonstration laboratories, and collaborate with R&D on new structural proteomics methodologies.
• Coordinate customer sample measurements and produce high-quality data and reports demonstrating instrument performance.
• Run customer demonstrations and presentations, and provide advanced technical support for sales cases on-site or via Teams.
• Develop application notes and scientific content demonstrating instrument performance.
• Maintain current knowledge of products and software, coordinating with factory and regional applications teams; travel for training updates and pre-sales applications support.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field, or a B.S. with equivalent experience including at least 5 years in related fields.
• At least 5 years of hands-on LC-MS experience with complex mixtures of peptides and proteins, or development experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with mass spectrometry software.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for presenting results in support of sales and marketing activities.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to autonomously complete or oversee projects through to deadlines.
• Strong motivation to advance the application of hirify.global technologies in structural proteomics and to work in an innovative environment.

• Experience with hirify.global mass spectrometers, including timsOmni.
