Team Lead, HR Services

Location: Budapest, Hungary; partially remote. Other location: Szekesfehervar, Fejer, Hungary.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and mature a new Tier 1 HR Operations sub-team within the EMEA HR Services organisation.
• Lead HR Operations Specialists delivering day-to-day support across end-to-end HR processes, overseeing workflows, resolving issues, supporting performance, and coaching team members.
• Create and maintain version-controlled SOPs and DTPs, own the team service catalogue, define service levels and hand-offs, and establish backup and coverage models for business continuity.
• Harmonise HR processes across EMEA while maintaining compliance with local requirements and reducing unnecessary country-specific differences.
• Partner with HRIT, Workday teams, HR Services groups, HRBPs, and regional stakeholders to automate, simplify, and digitalise HR case handling and implement system changes.
• Lead improvement, transformation, risk mitigation, data privacy, and operational quality activities across countries and regions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in HR Operations or HR Services, with a strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes and service delivery.
• Experience leading teams and/or managing operational or cross-functional projects, ideally in an HR Shared Services or multi-country environment.
• Ability to organise, guide, motivate, and support a team while fostering a positive, inclusive, and performance-oriented culture.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building trust, influencing stakeholders, and collaborating across teams, regions, and functions.
• High empathy, professionalism, and maturity when working with employees, managers, and HR stakeholders.
• Fluent English with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to deliver work with speed, accuracy, and accountability in dynamic or ambiguous situations.
• Creative, solution-oriented approach with the ability to identify simplification opportunities and improve processes.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, prioritisation ability, confidence to drive decisions, and readiness to contribute to transformation and process redesign.

Nice to have

• Experience with change management initiatives, including process transitions, system enhancements, or operating model shifts.
• Familiarity with Workday HCM, HR case management tools, or HR digitalisation and automation technologies.
• Ability to work in a matrix organisation with cross-regional teams such as AMER and APAC and across different HR Service lines.
