Associate Director, External Communications (Corporate)

Location: Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands; hybrid, 8 days per month onsite. Travel required less than 15%.

hirify.global is seeking an external communications leader for its Global Communications team.

What you will do

• Develop and execute external communications and media relations strategies aligned with corporate objectives in the Netherlands and, where appropriate, globally.
• Advise the corporate executive team on media relations, financial communications, reputational matters, and sensitive issues.
• Create and oversee press releases, holding statements, media alerts, briefings, FAQs, media pitches, blog and social media content, and bylined articles.
• Build relationships with Dutch and international media, industry publications, influencers, analysts, and executive stakeholders.
• Lead communications for quarterly earnings, the Annual Report, the Annual General Meeting, financial transactions, and material corporate developments in partnership with Investor Relations.
• Govern crisis communications frameworks and materials, coordinate with Business Continuity, and promote the Incident Management approach across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or journalism.
• 10+ years of communications experience in a corporate and/or agency environment.
• Strong, established media network across Tier 1, trade, and broadcast outlets, including Dutch media.
• Proven crisis communications and sensitive-issues management experience.
• Experience leading or supporting financial communications within a large, complex organization.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English.
• Excellent writing, editing, narrative, storytelling, verbal communication, organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand complex information and industry-specific documents, solve practical problems, work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and geographies, align diverse stakeholders, adapt to change, and take ownership from concept through delivery.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or certifications in external communications or marketing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with AI prompting and GenAI tools in communications.
