PHP (Laravel) Software Engineer (EdTech)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain platform features using PHP and Laravel, including backend functionality, REST APIs, queues, and integrations.
• Build and support integrations with rostering and LMS providers and Salesforce.
• Develop Salesforce functionality when needed, including Apex, triggers, flows, and integrations with the platform.
• Write automated tests, participate in GitHub code reviews, and keep Jira tickets up to date.
• Work with the client's US team in daily stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, and demos.
• Participate in technical design and estimation of new features.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience with PHP 8.x.
• Solid commercial experience with Laravel, including Eloquent, queues/jobs, policies, migrations, and API resources.
• Strong MySQL and SQL skills, including performance understanding and data migrations.
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and OAuth 2.0.
• Experience with automated testing using PHPUnit or Pest.
• Experience with Git, code review, and Docker.
• English at B2+ level for daily communication with the US client team.
• Ability to work independently on a feature from analysis through release.

Nice to have

• Salesforce development experience with Apex, SOQL, triggers, Flows, Salesforce REST/Bulk API, and Salesforce-to-external-system integrations.
• Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification.
• EdTech or K-12 experience and familiarity with rostering standards such as OneRoster, Clever, Edlink, or Google Classroom.
• AWS services including S3, RDS, SQS, or Bedrock, and Terraform.
• Vue.js or React.
