PLC Software Developer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Treviso, Italy; office-based in Olmi di San Biagio di Callalta (TV), with frequent national and international travel, approximately 25% of the time.

Salary: €38,400–€52,800 per year; base salary bands range from €34,000–€64,000 in 13 installments depending on level, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, develop, and maintain moderately complex software for industrial automation systems and semiconductor equipment.
• Develop PLC applications, preferably using TwinCAT and Beckhoff, and create reusable software modules and libraries.
• Prepare software documentation and test procedures.
• Support on-site commissioning, troubleshooting, and direct work with tools and hardware.
• Analyze software issues, implement bug fixes, and troubleshoot software problems.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with global teams on requirements, scheduling, and project execution.

Requirements

• Post Diploma ITS with related experience or a university degree in Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering, Automation, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Solid knowledge of PLC programming languages, preferably TwinCAT and Beckhoff.
• Proficiency in C/C++, .NET, C#, operating systems, networking principles, algorithms, and multithreading.
• Willingness to travel frequently nationally and internationally.
• Hands-on attitude and ability to work directly with tools and hardware.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with industrial automation concepts and drive systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of high-level programming languages, including C++ and C#.
• Strong conceptual understanding of software engineering and eagerness to learn.
