Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Lisbon, Portugal, with a minimum of 2 days per week from the Lisbon Hub. The role is open to candidates worldwide; visa sponsorship and relocation support to the relevant location may be provided subject to eligibility and applicable restrictions.

What you will do

• Build and maintain a self-service developer platform that abstracts infrastructure complexity and supports application deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Orchestrate cloud-native infrastructure, manage Kubernetes clusters and cloud resources, and improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through FinOps practices.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, reusable templates, and automation that improve developer productivity.
• Apply fault-tolerance, disaster-recovery, and scaling practices to improve application reliability and resilience.
• Improve platform operations and observability, monitor platform health, and resolve incidents proactively.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to understand their needs and promote cloud-native best practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of production experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience automating workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience using and maintaining observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
• Proactive ownership of platform issues, with a focus on long-term scalability and resilience.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams to align goals and deliver simple, impactful solutions.
• Commitment to continuously developing knowledge of cloud-native tools, technologies, and practices.
• Ability to measure impact, introduce changes gradually, use automation to reduce toil, and share knowledge.
