BMC Firmware Engineer (Embedded Linux)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan. Successful background and reference checks are required, along with satisfactory proof of the right to work in Taiwan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain BMC firmware for enterprise and data center server platforms.
• Develop and integrate BMC network features and address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures.
• Develop and maintain BMC applications, services, drivers, and middleware using C/C++ and Linux.
• Work with OpenBMC, MegaRAC, evaluation boards, and Intel, AMD, and Nvidia platforms.
• Analyze firmware and network issues, perform log and root-cause analysis, and resolve complex problems.
• Collaborate with hardware, BIOS, system validation, customer, and other teams; provide technical solutions for production and field issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of software or firmware development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Solid Linux experience, including debugging and system-level development.
• Familiarity with IPMI.
• Experience with firmware debugging, log analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenBMC, MegaRAC, or other BMC firmware platforms.
• Experience with AST2600, AST2700, or other BMC SoCs.
• Experience with D-Bus, Yocto, systemd, U-Boot, or the Linux kernel.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing, or other software development tools.
• Experience with Linux shell scripting, Python, Redfish, or Wireshark.
