Part-Time Automation Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Hebron, Illinois, United States of America; onsite weekend PM shift with rotating weekend overtime and on-call production support.

Pay range: $25–$35 per hour, with possible overtime and shift premium compensation.

What you will do

• Set up and debug automation presses, assembly machines, new automation, samples, and production cells.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, clean, and replace components on automation, assembly, molding, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, complete equipment logs and paperwork, and document equipment specifications.
• Check and adjust parameters during changeovers and communicate equipment status across shifts and with operators and technicians.
• Support quality corrective actions, efficiency improvements, operator training, inventory replenishment, and mold technician activities.
• Provide on-call production support and participate in scheduled weekend overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Working knowledge of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and electrical schematics; sonic welding and injection molding knowledge preferred.
• Ability to attend paid formal training for PLC programming if needed.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, including electrical safety, machine guarding, and authorized lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift, work around machinery in physically demanding positions, and lift up to 50 pounds sporadically.
