Engineering Manager – Enterprise Data Engineering

What you will do

• Lead, coach, develop, recruit, and manage the performance of an Enterprise Data Engineering team.
• Translate enterprise roadmaps into delivery plans, milestones, capacity allocations, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide technical direction for secure batch and streaming ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, transformations, data models, and enterprise integrations.
• Drive reusable, documented, discoverable, and domain-owned data products aligned with enterprise standards.
• Own production readiness, reliability, observability, data freshness, data quality, lineage, access controls, incident response, and recovery procedures.
• Coordinate delivery with platform, architecture, security, governance, analytics, AI/ML, application, infrastructure, and business teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of people management or engineering leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and delivery leadership.
• 8+ years of software, data platform, or data engineering experience with production-grade enterprise data solutions.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL/ELT, data warehousing and lakehouse patterns, dimensional modelling, data contracts, and reusable data products.
• Practical experience with SQL and Python, plus strong familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, PySpark, and dbt or comparable transformation frameworks.
• Experience with orchestration, API and file-based integrations, cloud services such as AWS, Git-based development, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience operating business-critical data pipelines and communicating delivery status, risks, dependencies, and priorities to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Enterprise Finance or Supply Chain data experience, including SAP and planning-system integrations such as Anaplan or Adaptive.
• Experience with data governance, metadata and lineage, master data, privacy classification, and regulated or sensitive datasets.
• Experience enabling analytics, machine learning, or AI-ready data products and applying AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.
