Junior Snowflake Database Administrator (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Antonio, TX or Tysons, VA, US; 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week

What you will do

• Support Snowflake development, test, and production environments, including databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, warehouses, and resource monitors.
• Manage users, roles, grants, object ownership, RBAC, least-privilege access, and security controls.
• Monitor query performance, warehouse utilization, concurrency, storage, credit consumption, and overall platform health.
• Support data loading and scheduled processes using COPY INTO, stages, file formats, Snowpipe, streams, and tasks.
• Troubleshoot failed jobs, connectivity and access issues, data-loading errors, and performance incidents while maintaining documentation and runbooks.
• Work with data engineering, BI, security, cloud, and application teams on integrations, platform improvements, and Snowflake Cortex AI workloads.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of database, cloud data platform, or data engineering experience with practical Snowflake exposure.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, query plans, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake administration, RBAC, security concepts, performance and cost monitoring, data loading, and recovery features such as Time Travel and zero-copy cloning.
• Exposure to AWS storage, networking, identity, and security concepts used with Snowflake.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT and BI tools such as dbt, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule in San Antonio, TX or Tysons, VA, with 3 office days per week.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or a related discipline.
• SnowPro Core certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience administering Snowflake Cortex AI, including Cortex Search, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, LLM functions, governance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Basic Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Snowflake scripting; experience with CI/CD, Git, infrastructure-as-code, or DevOps practices.
• Experience in regulated industries or with ITIL-style incident and change management.
