Plant Superintendent (Waste-to-Energy)

Location: On-site at the Honolulu Facility in Kapolei, Hawaii, United States. Monday through Friday, with evening, weekend, and holiday availability required when business needs require.

Salary: $118,700–$169,800 USD per year. Relocation assistance and a sign-on bonus are available for qualified candidates.

What you will do

• Lead daily Mass Burn operations at a waste-to-energy facility and supervise frontline operations personnel.
• Coach, mentor, evaluate, and develop employees while administering technical training programs.
• Drive improvements in plant performance, equipment reliability, operating procedures, and maintenance effectiveness.
• Coordinate operations, maintenance, engineering, environmental, and facility leadership activities.
• Ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally compliant plant performance.
• Maintain emergency readiness, inspect equipment and operating areas, and support emergency response activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• At least 10 years of supervisory and management experience in power generation, waste-to-energy, utility, or industrial process facilities.
• Ability to obtain ASME QRO Provisional Certification within six months of employment.
• Ability to achieve Site-Specific ASME QRO Operator Certification within twelve months of employment.
• Knowledge of power plant and industrial process operations, turbine generators, rotating equipment, electrical generation, and control systems.
• Ability to work on-site in an industrial facility, including at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather and operating conditions.

Nice to have

• Experience with municipal solid waste combustion and materials handling processes.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
