Network Reliability Engineer - Professional

Location: Hybrid role based in Italy, with locations in Milan, Rome, Trento, or remote work from Italy

Salary: €41,000–€56,000 gross annual salary

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate highly available, scalable network services according to SRE principles.
• Develop shared services and tooling that improve availability, scalability, efficiency, and engineering velocity.
• Build reliable production systems in collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop and enhance network automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Create technical and user documentation for shared services and tooling.
• Build security into payment technology services from the beginning.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of network and automation experience in a high-availability environment.
• Programming and development skills with a strong automation mindset.
• Experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, and network infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus and VXLAN EVPN architecture.
• Knowledge of BGP, including iBGP, eBGP, and MP-BGP, OSPF, vPC, STP, and Layer 2/3 encapsulation.
• Practical experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard and an understanding of network security.

Nice to have

• Academic or Bachelor-level education, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
