Software Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional office presence on Monday and Friday

Salary: $62–$62 USD per hour

What you will do

• Complete a 12-week internship with dedicated mentorship and deliver a live production project.
• Investigate machine learning frameworks, agentic coding tools, and large language models to solve engineering challenges.
• Own a project from coding and testing through production deployment and presentation.
• Work with Design, Product, Data, QA, and DevOps to deliver products and features.
• Explore teams including Infrastructure, Engine, Search and Discovery, Foundational AI, and Economy through the team matching process.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Working toward proficiency in or proficient with one or more of Go, Node, Ruby, Python, C++, Lua, Swift, C#, or Java.
• Curiosity, collaboration skills, openness to feedback, and motivation to solve complex technical challenges.
• For US-based roles, certain US visa-related work authorizations may not be eligible, and future H-1B sponsorship may not be supported.
