Security Engineering Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hampshire, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. The role requires eligibility for UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, applicable residency requirements, and the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also require specific nationality eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of security controls, identity management, and threat-mitigation patterns across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
• Embed automated SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning into delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with accreditors, Risk Owners, and project leadership on security case approvals and risk management frameworks.
• Guide engineers on vulnerability remediation, secure coding standards, and incident response preparedness.
• Apply secure networking, encryption, IAM, and zero-trust architecture principles.

Requirements

• Experience in cybersecurity, secure systems architecture, and technical security leadership.
• Experience engaging accreditors and working with NCSC guidelines and cryptographic risk frameworks.
• Cyber or IT NVQ Level 4, or equivalent higher education or a degree in Information Security or Computer Science.
• Mandatory CISSP or CISM certification.
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure security, infrastructure-as-code security, and automated vulnerability management tools.
• Must meet applicable UK security and residency requirements and have the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• CCSP or AWS/Azure Solutions Architect or Security Specialty certification.
