Associate Principal Incident Responder (Cybersecurity)

Location: Germany; must be a German resident. The role includes onsite and remote customer engagements and up to 40% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Lead OT incident response engagements for industrial customers, including investigations, threat hunts, triage, and compromise assessments.
• Act as Incident Commander during active incidents, providing decision-grade guidance and managing communications.
• Drive investigations from root-cause analysis through containment and remediation, including participation in the on-call rotation.
• Conduct after-action reviews and improve incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Deliver IR planning workshops, tabletop exercises, maturity assessments, and purple teaming advisory services.
• Mentor teammates, provide technical escalation support, and contribute to customer relationships, research, and service development.

Requirements

• Must be a German resident.
• Fluent German and working proficiency in English required.
• 8+ years of hands-on incident response and digital forensics experience with lead-level depth in at least two of network, hardware, memory, or disk forensics.
• Experience leading end-to-end investigations, correlating multiple data types, hunting malicious activity, and coordinating incident communications.
• Experience with ICS/OT cybersecurity, industrial environments, related threats and vulnerabilities, and relevant frameworks and standards.
• Knowledge of NIS2, IT-SiG 2.0, BSI KRITIS, IEC 62443, and NIST CSF, plus strong customer-facing communication and advisory skills.

Nice to have

• Experience as an asset owner, operator, integrator, or industrial cybersecurity consultant.
• Experience translating technical findings into enterprise strategy, executive briefings, playbooks, and customer documentation.
