Hardware Support Engineer (Robotics AI)

Location: On-site in Toronto GTA, Canada, or New York, United States

Salary: CA$135K–CA$155K per year, with equity offers; compensation may vary by hiring location.

What you will do

• Own device issues from initial reports through diagnosis, repair or recovery, and readiness verification.
• Troubleshoot cameras, peripherals, Linux software, storage, networking, and data transfers using logs, measurements, and physical testing.
• Prepare and validate devices for deployment through configuration, software updates, recording checks, and return inspections.
• Support operators and partners with technical guidance, reproduce defects, and collaborate with engineering teams on resolution.
• Write diagnostic scripts and troubleshooting procedures to accelerate recurring issue resolution.
• Track fleet failures, verify corrective actions, and improve device readiness checks.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware-software devices such as embedded systems, cameras, robotics, or connected equipment.
• Practical Linux skills covering command-line tools, logs, processes, services, filesystems, and network diagnostics.
• Python or shell scripting experience for diagnostics, device checks, and operational automation.
• Ability to isolate faults through repeatable tests and distinguish hardware, software, configuration, and operator issues.
• Experience validating devices after repairs, configuration changes, or software updates.
• Experience with distributed device fleets, recording failures, electronics troubleshooting, component replacement, or repair qualification.
