Revenue Accountant

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; hybrid office environment. Requires participation in in-person financial reviews, close activities, project meetings, and other business engagements. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

What you will do

• Manage accounting analyses, reconciliations, schedules, and recurring financial deliverables for assigned projects.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support month-end close, ledger integrity, and financial reporting.
• Analyze labor, material, subcontract, and other direct project costs, including EAC/ETC forecasts, margin, and financial performance.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, assess financial risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Align financial reporting with project execution, program baselines, forecasts, contractual requirements, and customer commitments.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Program Management, Program Controls, Contracts, Operations, and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute according to company policy.
• At least 4 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, program finance, financial analysis, or a related project-based environment.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, cost transfers, and financial discrepancy research.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual and cost accounting, project-based revenue recognition, and milestone-based billing.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP, project accounting, or financial management systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and currently hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, the required U.S. government personnel security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience in engineering, technology, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or another project-driven organization.
• Experience with Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Vantagepoint, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Power BI, Power Query, or SQL.
• Experience with ASC 606, project financial packages, audit support, or milestone-based project accounting.
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward a relevant accounting or finance credential.
• Active-duty military experience.
