Software Developer (Cryptography)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada; travel for in-person engagement may be required.

Salary: USD 100,000–140,000 annual base salary for US-based roles; CAD 85,000–119,000 annual base salary for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and implement cryptographic libraries, algorithms, and security-critical code across hirify.global applications.
• Develop proof-of-concepts and implement new industry specifications.
• Support security design and scoping for features with significant cryptographic components.
• Assess and resolve security vulnerabilities across applications.
• Conduct code and design reviews to maintain cryptographic hygiene and standards.
• Collaborate with Design, Product, Product Engineering, and other technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 0–2+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience with security development best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.
• Basic understanding of modern cryptographic algorithms, trade-offs, and implementation considerations gained through real-world experience.
• Experience implementing testing methodologies and debugging techniques to ensure high-quality code.
• Ability to communicate positively and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing industry standards into new libraries or codebases.
• Experience with Rust and/or Golang, or demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages quickly.
