Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Engineer

Location: El Segundo, California, primarily on-site 4–5 days per week. U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government security clearance are required.

Salary: $99,000–$132,000–$145,200 annually in California.

What you will do

• Support the U.S. Space Force in defining, managing, and sustaining an integrated system-of-systems space enterprise.
• Use MBSE tools, including Cameo, to develop system requirements, establish traceability, link model elements, and generate decision-support reports.
• Develop and maintain a Life Cycle Sustainment Plan aligned with program objectives and long-term support strategies.
• Support architecture, engineering, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
• Organize and maintain technical documentation in Confluence and Git-based repositories.
• Research emerging requirements, technologies, and threats while identifying risks requiring early mitigation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required; the role is Top Secret/SCI eligible.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• At least 2 years of experience developing or defining architectures integrating MBSE tools, simulation environments, data repositories, and lifecycle management systems.
• At least 2 years of systems engineering analysis and systems engineering product development for DoD or government systems.
• At least 2 years of practical MBSE experience developing technical specifications, interface control documents, and system architectures.
• Ability to maintain an enterprise architecture for a digital engineering ecosystem and collaborate with government clients, FFRDCs, and contractor teams.

Nice to have

• TS/SCI clearance, a master’s degree in engineering, or experience with Model-Based Verification and Validation.
• Knowledge of SysML and DoDAF.
• Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw, SparxEA, DOORS, or IBM Rhapsody.
• OMG Certified Systems Model Professional or INCOSE Systems Engineering certification.
• Experience analyzing requirements, translating them into designs, and resolving technical risks.
