Sr. SEO Specialist

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end SEO strategy for public-facing websites and applications supporting a large-scale government outreach and engagement program.
• Establish SEO baselines, KPIs, benchmarks, and ongoing performance reporting for leadership and government stakeholders.
• Analyze search visibility, user behavior, conversions, crawl errors, page speed, and other technical SEO health indicators.
• Lead keyword research, internal linking, schema markup, site-speed optimization, link-building, content promotion, and voice-search initiatives.
• Advise content, editorial, communications, social media, and paid-media teams on SEO integration, searchability, and audience reach.
• Develop SEO test scenarios, conduct training and workshops, and coordinate technical remediation with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Communications, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of hands-on SEO experience covering technical SEO, on-page optimization, and content-led strategy for large, high-traffic websites.
• Experience with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience setting SEO KPIs, tracking results, and presenting data-driven reports to non-technical stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of structured data, schema markup, site-speed optimization, technical SEO diagnostics, user-intent research, and long-tail search.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Secret clearance determination for a federal government contract.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting SEO for DoD, federal, or other government-facing digital platforms.
• Experience with voice-search optimization and FAQ or structured-content strategy.
• Relevant Google Analytics, HubSpot SEO, or SEMrush certifications.
• Experience mentoring junior SEO or content staff.
