Senior Linux Data Center Technician - Memphis

Location: Southaven, Mississippi, or Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Onsite data center and job-site work is required, including emergency response, elevated-height work, and flexible evening and weekend availability.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain servers, storage, compute, and network infrastructure.
• Install and commission racks, servers, switches, power cabling, fiber, and optical systems.
• Support data center construction, hardware staging, provisioning handoff, receipt, and decommissioning.
• Manage inventory, spare parts, asset records, vendor returns, and warehouse operations.
• Respond to cross-functional data center operations tickets through Jira and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Define and implement network layouts and infrastructure solutions while improving MTTD and MTTR.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of experience with server, storage, compute, and network hardware, including troubleshooting and repair.
• 5+ years of experience managing inventory and ordering, receiving, and shipping server and network equipment.
• Strong Linux skills, including shell file management, permissions, package management, filesystems, process management, troubleshooting, and scripting.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, work in tight quarters and noisy environments, and work at heights up to 50 feet with safety equipment.
• Available for changing schedules, including evenings, weekends, onsite emergencies, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, and background checks.

• Oracle experience and inventory management experience.
• 4+ years of structured copper and fiber cabling experience.
• 4+ years of experience with data center power and cooling concepts.
