Principal Platform Engineer - DevOps (Cortex)

What you will do

• Develop the orchestration platform managing the lifecycle of production environments hosting Cortex products on GCP.
• Build Kubernetes operators and cloud-native applications for infrastructure management and deployment.
• Design and improve software architecture for scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Evaluate and deploy relevant emerging technologies in production environments.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical and architectural decisions.
• Join the on-call rotation supporting applications and infrastructure.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong programming experience in Go, Python, or another relevant language.
• Cloud experience, preferably with GCP.
• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code and tools such as Terraform, FluxCD, and ConfigConnector.
• Advanced experience with Kubernetes, Docker, virtualized environments, production monitoring, testing, rollouts, and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing Kubernetes operators.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL or ScyllaDB.
