Information Security Intern (Cybersecurity)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: $25 CAD per hour; internship term runs from January to April 2027

What you will do

• Learn about cybersecurity threats, industry events, and hirify.global’s role in the Canadian financial ecosystem.
• Monitor evolving threats, emerging trends, and technology developments affecting the organization’s threat landscape.
• Conduct comprehensive threat and vulnerability analysis and research to support decision-making.
• Lead investigations using critical thinking to uncover insights and solve complex problems.
• Create reports to communicate and disseminate threat intelligence.

Requirements

• Currently completing an undergraduate degree at a Canadian institution in cybersecurity, information security, network engineering and security, or computer science.
• Possessing or working toward a comparable cybersecurity certification, such as SANS GIAC GCLD, GCDA, GCIA, or CompTIA CySA+.
• Foundational cybersecurity or networking experience and a strong interest in learning about cybersecurity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong initiative, attention to detail, critical thinking, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful candidates must complete applicable Canadian background checks.

Nice to have

• Scripting or software development experience.
• Cloud experience or business-related experience.
• Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, Splunk, QRadar, Cortex, Microsoft Defender, Proofpoint, Tenable, Panorama, or similar security tools.
