Senior Interior Designer

Location: On-site in Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, Michigan

What you will do

• Lead and oversee commercial interior design projects from concept development through implementation, ensuring alignment with design guidelines, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Manage project deliverables, utilization, schedules, and technical aspects across projects of different sizes.
• Lead and participate in client meetings and presentations.
• Prepare design documentation, including 3D models, plans, finish plans, and specifications.
• Coordinate FF&E budgeting, selection, sourcing, and procurement with direct sources and dealers.
• Develop implementation strategies, improve technical support, establish standards, and share industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
• 5+ years of professional commercial design experience, preferably in workplace, hospitality, higher education, or multifamily design.
• Experience leading all phases of the interior design process and organizing design documentation.
• Advanced knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
• Proficiency with SketchUp, ArchiCAD, or Revit, plus Adobe Creative Suite or similar visualization tools.
• Strong verbal, written communication, collaboration, graphics, and visualization skills.
