Industrial and Personnel Security Manager (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States, with support for other Varda facilities and occasional domestic travel.

Salary: $115,000–$155,000 per year, plus potential stock options or long-term cash awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What you will do

• Run the industrial security program under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), contract requirements, security classification guides, and applicable DoD and Intelligence Community requirements.
• Maintain facility clearance records, classified-material controls, security documentation, and government correspondence.
• Plan annual self-inspections, prepare for DCSA reviews and customer assessments, and track corrective actions through closure.
• Manage personnel security activities, including clearance requests, upgrades, transfers, reciprocity, Continuous Vetting, SCI nominations, access requests, and visit authorizations.
• Coordinate cleared-employee onboarding and offboarding, briefings, debriefings, foreign-travel reporting, adverse-information reporting, and personnel security records.
• Support insider-threat administration, security incident response, COMSEC activities, CUI protection, classified infrastructure, and cross-functional security planning.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant industrial security experience in a DoD or Intelligence Community contractor environment, including hands-on personnel security responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DD Form 254 requirements, security classification guides, and applicable ICD 704 personnel security requirements.
• Hands-on proficiency with DISS and NBIS, plus the ability to use NISS and customer-specific systems.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility are required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. person and able to work on-site in El Segundo.
• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Seven or more years of relevant experience, including FSO, Alternate FSO, CPSO, CSSO, or security-program leadership responsibilities.
• Experience supporting DCSA reviews and SCI or SAP industrial and personnel security programs.
• COMSEC account experience, insider-threat administration, and CUI or classified information system experience.
• CDSE FSO training or certifications such as SPeD or ISP.
• Experience building security processes in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or startup environments.
