Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: San Diego, California, United States. On-site work includes cleanroom operations, campus movement, equipment handling, and travel as required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and legally authorized to access controlled technology under U.S. export regulations.

What you will do

• Plan and support prototype test-rig builds, integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, modification, and decommissioning.
• Develop and improve manufacturing methods, procedures, tooling, equipment, test methods, and process controls.
• Lead manufacturing readiness and technical ownership for assigned products, modules, and manufacturing domains.
• Analyze yield, quality, cycle time, capacity, reliability, safety, and cost to identify improvements.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering work, risks, dependencies, decisions, and implementation plans.
• Coach engineers and transfer technical knowledge across engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in complex manufacturing, prototyping, new-product introduction, integration, test, industrialization, or related engineering work.
• Experience with complex electromechanical, mechatronic, vacuum, fluid, laser, or controls systems.
• Experience with prototype test-rig integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, qualification, and manufacturing readiness.
• Experience leading root-cause analysis, corrective action, recurrence prevention, and cross-functional technical leadership without formal authority.
• U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship and eligibility to access controlled technology are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, design of experiments, process capability, Lean methods, data visualization, and planning or analytical software.
