Summer 2027 Intern - Marketing - Copywriter (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bloomington, Illinois; selected interns must reside within the continental U.S. for the duration of the internship.

Salary: $25/hour. A $2,000 taxable stipend may also be available.

What you will do

• Write, edit, and optimize consumer-facing content for articles, product and landing pages, FAQs, email, social media, and video scripts.
• Use SEO and search insights to create content that is useful, discoverable, and aligned with customer needs.
• Research topics and explain complex insurance or financial concepts in clear, approachable language.
• Collaborate with copywriters, content strategists, SEO professionals, and marketing partners on digital content.
• Review content using feedback, brand standards, accessibility, legal considerations, and customer insights.
• Explore responsible uses of generative AI and analyze content performance to inform future optimization.

Requirements

• Current full-time sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate or postgraduate student, graduating in December 2027 or later.
• Major in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, or a related discipline.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, verbal, listening, and presentation skills, including familiarity with AP style.
• Ability to adapt content for different audiences, formats, channels, and customer needs.
• Strong collaboration, attention to detail, initiative, and willingness to receive and apply feedback.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the U.S. immediately; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Writing samples or a portfolio demonstrating strong writing ability.
• Coursework or experience in digital writing, journalism, marketing, communications, advertising, or content creation.
• Familiarity with SEO, content management systems, analytics, or digital marketing.
• Experience using generative AI responsibly for writing, research, or ideation.
