Senior Data Engineer (Python/Scala)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid model with 2–3 office days per week

What you will do

• Develop data capture, processing, storage, distribution, and visualization capabilities.
• Build scalable, high-performance distributed systems that process more than 3.6 billion domain event messages per day.
• Apply AWS compute, storage, and database services using standard methodologies.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on availability, monitoring, and resiliency.
• Propose new technical approaches, contribute to system architecture, and document solutions and design decisions.
• Collaborate in an agile, multidisciplinary team focused on continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

• 6–7 years of experience with at least one modern programming language, such as Python or Scala.
• Experience delivering and supporting highly available and scalable solutions with large transaction volumes.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including strong SQL proficiency.
• Experience using cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Interest in data, technology, service design patterns, and system architecture.
• Self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
