Android Engineer (Kotlin)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working with at least one day per week in the central London office. The work-from-anywhere policy allows working from another location for up to six weeks per year.

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Build and ship high-quality features and improvements for the native Android app.
• Develop app capabilities for content discovery, purchases, player control, playback, parental settings, and personal content.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and the iOS team to deliver consistent user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and iterative improvements to maintain a scalable codebase.
• Contribute to architecture, engineering standards, tooling, and automation, including responsible use of AI-augmented tools.
• Support shared quality by identifying blockers, helping colleagues, and improving performance and stability.

Requirements

• Several years of experience building Android applications with native Kotlin.
• Understanding of architectural patterns such as MVI or MVVM.
• Experience consuming third-party APIs.
• Experience with UI, unit, and snapshot testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a product-oriented approach.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup with at least one day per week in the central London office.

Nice to have

• Experience using or contributing to a design system.
• Experience with A/B testing.
• Experience with eCommerce and payments.
