Senior Technical Product Manager (Fintech)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; fully remote

What you will do

• Own the roadmap for core payment infrastructure, including payment rails, settlement flows, FX, APIs, and integrations.
• Define priorities, trade-offs, sequencing, and product specifications in collaboration with engineering leadership.
• Drive delivery from discovery and scoping through release and iteration.
• Translate technical and regulatory requirements into actionable product decisions.
• Work with compliance, risk, legal, payment schemes, banking partners, and infrastructure providers.
• Track reliability, transaction success rates, processing latency, payment volumes, technical debt, and infrastructure risks.

Requirements

• Direct product experience with payment rails, settlement flows, card issuing or acquiring, or SEPA/SWIFT integrations.
• Ability to engage with engineers on architecture decisions and write detailed technical specifications.
• Practical familiarity with AML/KYC, SEPA rules, PSD2, or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
• Ownership of product decisions, including defining the what and why.
• 6+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in fintech or payments infrastructure.
• Strong English communication skills for collaboration with engineering, business, and external partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with crypto or blockchain payment infrastructure and digital asset platforms.
• Familiarity with SEPA Instant, SWIFT GPI, or direct scheme connectivity.
• Experience with regulated EMIs, banks, payment institutions, multi-currency accounts, FX products, or cross-border payments.
• Startup or scale-up experience.
