Salary: $150,000–$210,000 per year, plus equity.

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage interface company developing Stream, a private voice ring and conversational interface designed to extend human thinking.

What you will do

  • Define the mechanical architecture of new wearable products and own parts, subsystems, and full assemblies from concept through mass production.
  • Build and test prototypes rapidly, using results to guide design decisions.
  • Package PCBs, flexes, batteries, antennas, sensors, microphones, and haptics into compact wearable form factors.
  • Design plastic, metal, and elastomer parts for high-volume manufacturing, including injection molding, insert/overmolding, CNC, MIM, and stamping.
  • Release production-ready 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with GD&T, perform tolerance stack-ups, and drive DFM/DFA with suppliers.
  • Plan mechanical validation and reliability testing, lead root cause analysis, and support engineering builds at manufacturing partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience in consumer electronics.
  • At least one high-volume consumer electronics product shipped through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills using tools such as Onshape, Creo, or SolidWorks, plus 2D drawings with GD&T.
  • Hands-on experience with tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, materials, plastic and metal part design, and high-volume manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work on-site in New York City.

Nice to have

  • Experience shipping wearables such as rings, watches, earbuds, or fitness trackers.
  • Experience with miniaturized assemblies, waterproofing, small batteries, or wireless charging.
  • Experience designing for human factors, fit, comfort, cosmetic surfaces, and finishes such as PVD, anodizing, polishing, or coatings.
  • Experience working at an early-stage startup.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on ownership in an early-stage hardware company.
  • Health, vision, and dental benefits.
  • Company-sponsored 401(k).
  • Unlimited PTO and sick time.
  • Early-stage equity.
