Staff Network Engineer – Deployment (APAC) (AI)

Location: APAC; Singapore. The role is based in Singapore, involves regular travel to sites and partners across Asia-Pacific, and requires flexibility when working with colleagues in Europe and the US.

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, and validate Ethernet and InfiniBand fabrics for large GPU clusters.
• Bring up front-end, storage, management, and WAN edge networks for new APAC sites and expansions.
• Coordinate circuits, cross-connects, peering, and connectivity with carriers, colocation providers, and IXPs.
• Run network acceptance testing and performance validation before customer handover.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, optics, and cabling issues during build and early-life operations.
• Improve provisioning and validation automation, reference designs, runbooks, and build documentation while partnering with program managers, data-centre operations, and vendors.

Requirements

• 8+ years of network engineering experience in large-scale data-centre, cloud, or HPC environments.
• Experience with a hyperscaler, major network vendor, or comparable large-scale network.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, ECMP, and Layer 2/Layer 3 data-centre design.
• Experience deploying and operating cluster networks, ideally including InfiniBand or RoCE fabrics.
• Familiarity with the APAC data-centre and carrier landscape, plus practical network automation experience with Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Willingness to travel across Asia-Pacific as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience building networks for GPU clusters or AI training environments.
• Knowledge of HPC topologies such as Fat Tree and Rail, and 400G/800G optics.
• Experience with SONiC, Cumulus, WAN, subsea or long-haul fibre, peering, or DWDM.
• Experience launching infrastructure in a new region, or industry certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or NVIDIA networking certifications.
