Senior Java Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Oslo, Norway; must live in Oslo or commute to Oslo at least 3 days a week. Hybrid work is available. A permit to work in Norway is required.

hirify.global is a Norwegian software company building an open-source CMS available as software and SaaS for organizations including NAV, Gjensidige, and Helsedirektoratet.

What you will do

• Develop Java solutions as part of the core engineering team.
• Contribute to the architecture and evolution of an open-source CMS and SaaS platform.
• Shape technical decisions and explore new Java features and backend tools.
• Work with backend architecture, web technologies, APIs, and scalable systems.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and the product community.

Requirements

• University degree in computer science or a similar field.
• Solid team-based experience developing Java solutions.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, web technologies, TypeScript, APIs, and scalable systems.
• Must have a permit to work in Norway.
• Must live in Oslo or be able to commute to Oslo at least 3 days per week.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, cloud development, or performance optimization.
• Willingness to learn Norwegian.
