Ruby on Rails Engineer

Location: Bergen, Norway; primarily office-based with the ability to work from home

What you will do

• Build and design secure, scalable, and reliable microservices in a cloud SaaS environment.
• Develop products from the ground up, turning ideas into working solutions.
• Own technical design for projects of moderate complexity and evaluate software trade-offs.
• Design RESTful APIs, technical documentation, and high-quality software using sound engineering practices.
• Collaborate with the team, experiment with technologies where appropriate, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Ruby or Ruby on Rails Developer.
• Experience with cloud or other large-scale, scalable environments.
• Understanding of best practices in RESTful API design.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and other database architectures.
• Fluent English and the ability to work primarily from the Bergen office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or interest in security, identity, access management, or authentication.
• Ability to work productively with Python, Flask, JavaScript, or Node.js.
• BSc in Computer Science or a related field.
