Big Data Architect (GCP)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with 2–3 days from the office.

What you will do

• Architect and build data pipelines, data platforms, and data warehouses on Google Cloud Platform.
• Act as a GCP technical consultant and trainer for client engineering teams.
• Join client engineering teams and implement modern data engineering practices.
• Lead and mentor engineers while supporting agile data team practices.
• Manage stakeholder communication, conflict resolution, and end-to-end delivery.
• Contribute to presales activities and proof-of-concept delivery.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of hands-on coding experience with Java or Python and SQL.
• At least 3 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Professional Google Cloud certifications.
• Strong practical experience with BigQuery, Kubernetes, Airflow or Cloud Composer, and dbt Core.
• Up-to-date hands-on experience using agentic AI tools to build software solutions.
• Experience in telecommunications, banking, or financial services.
• Strong English and Hungarian communication skills; ability to work from the Budapest office 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Professional Google Cloud certifications.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding clients through cloud adoption.
