Modernization Engineer/FDE (Mainframe)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; partially remote / hybrid

What you will do

• Define, assess, and prioritize mainframe modernization roadmaps based on cost and risk.
• Design software frameworks, systems, products, interfaces, and business application prototypes.
• Identify and resolve weaknesses in framework and application architecture.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct design and code reviews, and maintain enterprise-wide application design standards.
• Align architecture with business requirements and project goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Document software architecture, application design processes, component integration, and testing guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience architecting large customer change and transformation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of hardware and software, including connectivity between platforms.
• Strong understanding of z/OS, IBM software products, and third-party mainframe software.
• Hands-on experience working in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with mainframe modernization projects involving modernization on, integration with, or migration off the platform.

Nice to have

• The Open Group Master Certified Architect certification or equivalent.
