Mission Control Analyst

Location: On-site in Manhattan, New York City, United States; shifts include evenings or a weekend day.

Base salary: $70,000–$85,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Monitor first-responder radio, user video, partner feeds, AI-generated incident drafts, and data streams across covered markets.
• Verify incidents, identify unconfirmed information, and decide whether an alert should remain local, reach a city, or go wider.
• Review, correct, and send incident titles, updates, and push notifications to hirify.global’s editorial and safety standards.
• Coordinate live coverage with field creators, partner responders, and the studio when incidents go on air.
• Participate in weekly reviews and help develop rules for Mission Control and AI agents.
• Progress from shadowing shifts during days 1–30 to carrying independent shifts and owning a regular slot by days 61–90, including a weekend day.

Requirements

• Sharp judgment under pressure, with the ability to distinguish urgent events from merely loud ones.
• Fast, accurate, detail-oriented work and a strict refusal to present rumors as facts.
• Ability to assess whether drafts are true, clear, and safe to send within seconds.
• Ability to maintain editorial standards under pressure and explain amplification decisions clearly.
• Serious commitment to public safety and the real people affected by incidents.
• Willingness to work on-site in Manhattan on a shift schedule that includes evenings or a weekend day.
• No degree is required. Relevant backgrounds may include trust and safety or live moderation at scale, 911 dispatch, EMS or fire communications, security operations, newsroom assignment or breaking-news desks, wire services, and military or public-safety communications.

• Scanner fluency in a major market.
