SMT Supervisor (Defense Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead daily production of SMT PCBAs and prototypes in a high-volume, automated manufacturing environment.
• Supervise, schedule, coach, and develop line operators, material handlers, and technicians.
• Run line changeovers, support new product introduction builds, and transition prototypes into full-scale production.
• Track throughput, first-pass yield, downtime, OEE, and scrap while leading daily stand-up meetings and resolving bottlenecks.
• Drive 5S, visual management, lean manufacturing, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, ESD controls, quality requirements, and EHS policies while coordinating material flow and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of SMT PCBA production experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role within a high-volume, automated environment.
• Working knowledge of screen printing, pick and place, reflow, and AOI, SPI, and X-ray inspection.
• Experience implementing and sustaining 5S and lean manufacturing practices.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with MES systems and production data tracking.
• Experience balancing rapid prototyping with high-volume production.
• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 trainer or specialist certification.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
