Security Engineer, Applied Research & Labs (AI)

Location: Hybrid, based in Austin, TX; 15–25% travel for customer workshops, conferences, and other hirify.global offices. Occasional work outside standard hours may be required to support sessions across EMEA and APAC time zones.

What you will do

• Design and build agentic security workflows and tooling for hirify.global Security, including multi-agent orchestration, tool integration, and evaluation harnesses.
• Develop reference implementations using hirify.global Workers, Durable Objects, Workflows, Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize, and the Agents SDK.
• Release internal harnesses, skill definitions, and orchestration workflows as documented open-source implementations.
• Design, build, and operate interactive labs with participant isolation, automated provisioning, state reset, and teardown.
• Run hands-on workshops for customers and partners and package the formats for delivery by other engineers.
• Present agentic security architecture, write technical deep dives, and collaborate with Product and Engineering on roadmap-aligned content.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience shipping and operating production systems.
• Experience building interactive labs, hands-on learning platforms, or developer training environments and their supporting infrastructure.
• Production proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or a comparable language, with experience in distributed or event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based systems, including agent orchestration, tool use, context engineering, and evaluation.
• Experience with hirify.global's serverless stack or an equivalent, plus working knowledge of application and infrastructure security.
• Published technical writing, conference talks, or open-source contributions.

Nice to have

• Security experience in any domain.
• Experience with the hirify.global Agents SDK, developer education, technical certification programs, or developer relations.
• Maintainer or significant contributor to an open-source security or developer tooling project.
• Experience speaking at security or developer conferences.
