Applied AI/Automation Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support AI-enabled and conventional tools that improve engineering and operational workflows.
• Develop LLM-powered assistants, copilots, AI agents, document-intelligence solutions, search tools, and developer-productivity utilities.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems, internal data sources, documentation platforms, APIs, cloud services, and knowledge repositories.
• Design agent lifecycles including multi-step tool use, planning, handoffs, rollback, and deprecation.
• Create evaluation methods, quality metrics, monitoring, observability, and feedback loops for AI systems.
• Document architectures, implementation patterns, operational practices, and tool usage while collaborating with Applied AI, Security, and engineering partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production software development and deployment.
• Strong programming skills in one or more of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or C#.
• Hands-on experience building AI-enabled applications with LLM APIs, AI frameworks, enterprise AI platforms, or similar technologies.
• Experience with APIs, cloud services, enterprise data sources, data pipelines, knowledge repositories, source control, testing, and production operations.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, cybersecurity, data privacy, access control, and experience in the semiconductor or high-tech industry.

Nice to have

• Experience moving AI prototypes into production and managing testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement.
• Experience with AI agents, multi-step workflows, tool integrations, human-in-the-loop controls, and agent security patterns.
• Experience building reusable AI frameworks, optimizing quality, latency, reliability, and cost, or conducting rigorous AI experimentation and evaluation.
• Experience partnering with security, IT, governance, and business stakeholders to establish AI standards and adoption.
