Senior Legal Counsel II (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's headquarters in Long Beach, California, United States. The role supports U.S. Government contracts and requires the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance. For U.S. office roles, candidates must meet applicable ITAR authorization requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Base pay range: $213,800–$285,000 USD.

What you will do

• Advise senior leadership and operational teams on legal strategy, risk mitigation, and business objectives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, U.S. Government prime contracts, subcontracts, IP licenses, NDAs, leases, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead contract and trade compliance teams, manage external counsel, and improve legal processes, policies, templates, and playbooks.
• Advise on sanctions, export controls, EAR/ITAR classifications, licensing, technology transfers, customs, and restricted-party screening.
• Partner with Finance, IT/Security, HR, Supply Chain, quality, and logistics teams on cross-functional legal matters.
• Plan and execute legal due diligence and integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar or Registered In-House Counsel status.
• At least 15 years of legal experience, including in-house counsel or top-tier law firm experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and IP licenses.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work onsite at the Long Beach headquarters and comply with applicable U.S. Government space-technology export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience managing and developing legal professionals.
• Knowledge of U.S. Government contracts, FAR, and DFARS.
• Experience supporting DoD or NASA prime contracts and subcontracts.
• Familiarity with ITAR and EAR compliance requirements.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
