Systems Engineer (Infrastructure & Fleet)

Location: On-site at the Zurich headquarters; candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Zurich.

What you will do

• Design and implement fleet management capabilities for end-to-end learned manipulation, including remote software and model deployment, A/B and blue-green testing, centralized telemetry, monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
• Guide scalable architecture across edge computing, AI runtimes, cloud infrastructure, and local robotics systems.
• Establish testing, CI/CD, DevOps, reliability, and system-level software certification standards.
• Define interfaces between AI research, AI infrastructure, robotics, and hardware teams.
• Build reliable infrastructure that supports autonomous robot operations in real-world environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping and maintaining complex, fault-tolerant, production-grade systems in real-world environments such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, aerospace, or edge ML devices.
• Strong systems-level engineering skills, including cloud performance optimization and hardware/software integration.
• Experience building execution wrappers, safety monitors, telemetry systems, or remote-operation tools for edge systems.
• Ability to investigate edge-case failures, work deeply in code, and make independent architectural decisions.
• In-person presence in Zurich is essential; candidates must already be based there or be willing to relocate.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud and large-scale data for learning.
• Familiarity with safety-critical architectures or formal system certification environments.
• Experience scaling deep-tech software platforms from early prototypes to fleet-wide deployments.
