What you will do
- Support and manage a large fleet of MySQL databases accessed via ProxySQL
- Boost automation to reduce operational workload and increase reliability
- Design and implement new operational procedures and processes
- Develop code to improve database platform management
- Optimize database infrastructure layers including hardware, OS, storage, and network
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems and provide long-term solutions
- Prepare and execute full stack database platform upgrades
Requirements
- 3+ years experience with highly available database systems
- Programming and scripting skills
- Knowledge of MySQL, ProxySQL, Ansible, and Linux
- Experience in performance tuning and problem diagnosis at OS, database, and application levels
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet) and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
- Basic networking, server hardware, storage, and OS knowledge relevant to databases
- Willingness to learn quickly and collaborate with engineering teams
