AI Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States; company location in San Francisco, California.

Salary: $11,000 per month plus a housing stipend.

What you will do

• Identify problems, design experiments, evaluate results, and implement AI research in production.
• Build research experiments using modern and classical AI/ML techniques, including post-training, continuous learning, and agent self-improvement.
• Collaborate with product engineers to deliver AI-powered capabilities to users.
• Contribute to research infrastructure, including evaluations, production monitoring, and training pipelines.
• Solve engineering challenges involving performance optimization, data modeling, and API design.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle from ideation and design through testing and launch.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with expected graduation in December 2027 or in 2028.
• Experience in AI research, applied AI, or machine learning.
• Experience with substantive generative AI or transformer-based projects is preferred.
• Interest in building polished product experiences backed by advanced technology and agentic AI.
• Curiosity, adaptability, collaboration skills, and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
