Principal Privacy Architect (Python/Java)

Location: Hybrid; Kraków is preferred, remote work elsewhere in Poland may be considered, and candidates based in Brno or Prague may also be considered.

What you will do

• Design and deliver tooling, infrastructure, and workflows that automate privacy operations, including DPIAs, Records of Processing Activities, Data Subject Rights, consent management, retention controls, and evidence collection.
• Own and evolve the Privacy by Design framework, including threshold assessments, DPIA methodology, privacy requirements engineering, and review governance.
• Advise Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Security teams on privacy controls, reference architectures, technical standards, and implementation patterns.
• Enhance Data Subject Rights tooling by integrating systems and improving data discovery, combination, access, and deletion.
• Contribute to privacy and architecture reviews, incident assessments, deletion workflows, retention practices, cookie policies, cookie scanners, and compliance automation.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop the privacy engineering team’s technical practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering experience, including backend development with Python or Java.
• Experience contributing to privacy engineering, data protection, data governance, or compliance-related technical initiatives.
• Practical experience applying Privacy by Design principles and translating privacy requirements into technical designs, controls, and implementation plans.
• Experience building, maintaining, or integrating software services, RESTful APIs, automation tooling, and cloud-based systems.
• Knowledge of personal data handling, data minimization, anonymization, consent management, retention, deletion, and Data Subject Rights.
• Familiarity with GDPR and experience contributing to privacy assessments, security reviews, or architecture reviews.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Strong communication skills, independent working ability, collaboration across engineering and legal or privacy contexts, and the ability to contribute to complex technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

Nice to have

• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPT, or CDPSE.
• Experience with geospatial, location, mobility, or automotive data.
• Experience addressing varied privacy use cases within a larger organization.
